Penske Automotive Internet Sales Manager - Spring Branch Honda in Houston, Texas

Summary/Objective

The Internet Director manages the efficient and profitable operation of the Internet Sales Department to ensure that the dealership actualizes its maximum profit potential on Internet sales in accordance with dealership and corporate established goals.

Essential Functions

  • Directs and schedules the work of the employees in the Internet Sales Department Forecasts goals and objectives for the department

  • Meets all goals and objectives for the department including but not limited to response rate, total number of internet leads received, appointments set, departmental sales goals and personal sales goals

  • Monitors the phone and internets leads received and working with Internet Sales staff to ensure optimization of all leads received Coordinates Internet promotions and email campaigns with other dealership sales promotions and advertising

  • Researches auto-buying services on the Internet and acts as liaison with any services the dealership uses to promote the dealership or advertise the dealership through the Internet

  • Meet with online vendors and sales managers regularly to ensure that all online advertising efforts are effectively driving traffic into the dealership

  • Ensures that the website address is prominently displayed throughout the dealership, including but not limited to business cards, flyers, pens, and all dealership advertising

  • Researches auto-buying services on the Internet and acts as liaison with any services the dealership uses to promote the dealership or advertise the dealership through the Internet

  • Ensures that the website is frequently updated to attract new and repeat visitors.

  • Ensures that the vehicle display pages including photos and videos reflect current inventory

  • Understands the psychology of Internet customers and has the ability to train subordinates and other employees in methods to draw them into the store for vehicle demonstration and to close e transaction

  • Has ability to communicate with Internet customers and prospects according to their preferred method of communication, whether by phone, by email, or in person and able to train other subordinates to do the same

  • Has knowledge of products and services and can covey this information to subordinates and customers

  • Directs customers to product information resources, including those available on the Internet

  • Maintains an ongoing customer database to capture repeat business

  • Understands the federal, state, and local laws that govern retail automobile sales and ensures that internet programs are in compliance

  • Implements aggressive marketing plan to increase internet leads

  • Monitors daily productivity reports of team and provides coaching and direction to assist team members in meeting personal and departmental goals

  • Maintains reporting systems required by general management and the manufacturer

  • Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean

  • Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards

  • Follows the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct

  • Understands and follow all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from Supervisors

  • Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements.

  • Maintains a professional appearance for self and subordinates in accordance with company policy

  • Attends pertinent training on request

  • Assist with organizing and attends special events held at dealership or in the community

  • Attends company meetings as required.

  • Other duties as assigned
