Automotive Technician Helper
Job Details
Summary/Objective
The Tech Helper will assist the Service Technician as they diagnose and repair vehicles. The Tech Helper will perform basic preventative maintenance and vehicle repairs in accordance with manufacturer's standards and company polices.
Essential Functions
Stocks; places orders; verifies receipt of parts and supplies for service technicians
Assists service technicians and other service drive employees by bringing appropriate supplies and equipment to workspace and then putting away after use
Performs basic vehicle maintenance services including but not limited rotating, replacing, mounting and balancing tires, adjusting fluids and coolants, oil and filter changes and brake adjustments
Cleans work areas, empties trash, collects scrap and used materials then process according to company policy and in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
Moves vehicles from one area to another within the dealership
Cleans vehicles prior to delivery to customer
Performs duties related to the repair of vehicles as required and assigned by senior technician or Supervisors
Documents all work performed
Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer and in accordance with company policies
Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to working with hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management immediately
Communicates with Supervisor if additional work is needed
Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management immediately
Understands the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technology changes
Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards; Employees are required to record the beginning and ending times of any shift, break or departure from work for personal reasons
Follows the Company Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
Understands and follow all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from Supervisors
Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with company policy
Attends pertinent training on request
Attends company meetings as required
Other duties as assigned
