Penske Automotive Group is looking for a Wholesale Auction Coordinator to join our team in San Jose, CA. We are hiring immediately and offering a great chance to gain experience and learn the inner workings of an automotive dealership with state-of-the-art facilities!

This position is to assist the Penske Automotive Group Bid Sale Manager with both on-the-lot duties and administrative tasks that are needed to process by-weekly wholesale sales events:

  • The work week is Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm, however twice a month on sale weeks, the schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday.

  • Organize Bid Sale inventory as vehicles arrive. Stage vehicles to maximize space and lot presentation. Mark windshields with run numbers and store location. Mark key tags with the appropriate run number.

  • Occasional driving of cars from our local store locations to the bid sale location will be required. (Clean driving record required). As needed, arrange and coordinate transporting vehicles from NorCal stores to the bid sale location.

  • Scan vehicle information, photo cars, prepare condition reports, and download inventory into the Auction Simplified website for online posting.

  • Print and attach KBB sheets to the right side of the windshield of each car.

  • If requested by manager, assist car wash attendant in cleaning and preparing inventory.

  • During Sale hours, be available to assist dealers as needed to jump start cars, park cars, gas cars, and prepare current run lists of the inventory.

  • After a sales event, relocate sold units to the back corner of lot and prepare Re-Runs for the next sale.

  • Assist as necessary, putting keys out by 9:00 am and collecting keys at the end of each day.

  • Assist in general lot maintenance: i.e., picking up debris and garbage from bid sale area.

  • Assist transporters in locating and picking up sold units.

  • After each sale, assist in preparing sold car invoices and loading deals into Reynolds for processing paperwork. In the absence of the bid sale Manager, collect checks and signatures of buyers who are picking up sold cars after a sale.

Pay for this position is $21-$23/hr.
